The Measured UX Digital Course

Picture a workday where...

  • You’re in the room for big strategic decisions and product-defining conversations
  • The CEO comes to you directly to ask “What do you think of this idea?”
  • Nobody asks, “What’s UX, again?”

This UX utopia is not a pipe dream. It can happen when you've got measured results.

"After this course, I feel equipped to make real, measurable changes to our product and our process. Heather made what seemed like such a daunting task seem so doable. Now I know not just why to quantify our goals, but exactly how."

Katelyn Valentine, Senior UX Designer, Pentaho

You will learn how to:

  • Track metrics and see patterns over time, easily.  Measured UX includes a deep dive into several metric-tracking tools to show you how to find the data you need without getting distracted by the overwhelming amount of data available.

  • Turn your projects into solvable problems. You'll learn the secrets to effectively challenge projects that don't align with your users' needs and refocus your team around solving the problem instead of just completing the project.

  • Define success and achieve it. As valuable as launching is, that's not the end of the story. True success is comes when you've designed something that works for your users. In Measured UX, you'll learn exactly how to do that.

  • Bring your team and your company together. The most successful companies are connected - with data, with goals, with vision. In this course, you'll learn how to align your teams and keep everyone moving forward.

Measured UX puts you on the path to product leadership.

"Not only did I write pages of notes, but I'm also much more confident in myself as a UX/UI designer. The course shined a light on all the questions about business goals that I never dwelled upon."

"I have already made use of the Problem Statement Template on several occasions. It does a great job of consistently getting me the answers I need to build the feature that best suits the customer."

"Attending the workshop was a great way to add a new skill to my design process and better enable me and the team to adopt a data driven design methodology."

Won't data make my design work less creative?
In short, no. Putting restraints on the work actually forces us to be MORE creative, because our options our limited. To really solve problems with constraints, we become UX MacGyvers - finding the right pieces with our limited supply to save the day.

How do I convince my boss to cover the cost for professional development?

We made a downloadable cheatsheet to guide the conversation with your boss, for exactly this purpose. This course will provide longer value than most conferences, so we think it's a no brainer!

How do I get access to data at my company?

This is a tough one, because I don't control your processes, access, and firewalls. However, I recommend talking to your stakeholders, as well as people on the dev team who can help you install analytics tracking codes. In the course, I cover some effective methods for getting data tracking set up.

I don't have the time to collect data. How will this course help me?

Here's the thing - if you never start collecting data, you'll never be able to start ramping up its use. The good thing is that as soon as you start collecting data, even if you aren't using it at that time, the data will be there. That means that when you do have a second to breathe, you can go in and grab the data, instead of having to wait months to collect data at that time. And because this course is lifetime access, getting it now means you have it, for the lowest price, when you are ready.

I don't know how to get the data I need. Is this going to be doable for me?

Yes, definitely! I've focused on making each module and lesson short and actionable, so that you can take one small step each time you are ready. And I've taken into account the time and process constraints UX designers face, so the course will work nicely with your existing workflow.

How will I know what's statistically significant?

Good news! I cover this in depth in my course. The short answer is that statistical significance is not the only, nor the most important thing to consider when collecting and analyzing data.

What happens when the analytics software updates?

We know that this can happen, especially with Google Analytics! We already have processes in place to track any updates to the softwares included in our course, and will update all course materials within 1 - 3 weeks of a relevant software update.
